This is a list of all variables reported in the
ISCCP-ScaRaB DX dataset, and is meant to provide an idea
of the contents only. The actual storage order and format
of the data is different, as the data are bit-packed, and
coded for storage efficiency. See the data documentation
for a full description of the dataset format.
Variables labeled with 'd' are defined only for local
daytime, and are undefined at night.
The actual cloud/clear decision is indicated by the
values of the IR and VIS threshold results.
IR = 11um channel
VIS = 0.6um channel
IR-retrieved = only IR data used, blackbody cloud model
VIS-retrieved = IR and VIS data used
VIS-adjusted = liquid water cloud model
VIS-adjusted ice = ice cloud model
LW = 4 - 50um channel
SW = 0.2 - 4um channel
