CENTER ACTIVITIES

Sector Processing Center (SPC):

During June, NOA, AES, JMA and ESA processed greater than 97% of A data into B1/B2 data.

Normal operations were reported by AES, JMA and ESA.

NOA reported a power outage and fire in the satellite operations area that caused the loss of data for both NOAA-10 and NOAA-11 on 2 June from 0600 to 2400 UTC.

AES reported their best month ever, capturing 100% of all B1/B2 data for June. In May AES reported loss of some data (capture rate was 88%) caused by a variety of hardware problems.

Special Area Processing Center (SAPC):

No reports were received.

Satellite Calibration Center (SCC):

Extra BC data for METEOSAT-3/4 for May/June 88 and January/February 90, near transitions between METEOSAT-3 and METEOSAT-4, were received. The problems with AES AC data have been resolved and new results for GOES-7 for July and October 89 and January and April 90 have been received.

Global Processing Center (GPC):

The GPC continued to receive B2 data and correlative data in a routine manner.

Production of NOAA-11 (preliminary) B3 data is current.

Production of (preliminary) B3 data for METEOSAT is current.

Production of NOAA-10 (preliminary) B3 data is current. Re-calibration of NOAA-10 B3 has been completed from December 86 through December 87.

Production of GOES-6 (preliminary) B3 data is completed. Re-calibration of GOES-6 B3 data has commenced.

Production of GOES-7 (preliminary) B3 data has been completed from April 87 through January 88.

The spectral response and other nominal calibration information for GMS-4 have been received. Production of GMS B3 data will resume once this information is completed.

Production of TOVS correlative data is current.

C1 data for June and July 86 have been completed and shipped to the ICA.

Final testing of C2 processing has been completed and production started. First deliveries will be made this month.

ISCCP Central Archive (ICA):

The ICA continued to receive B1 data from NOA, AES, ESA, and JMA and B3 and C data from the GPC in a routine manner.

SATELLITE HEALTH

The health of GMS-4, METEOSAT-3, METEOSAT-4, GOES-7, NOAA-10 and NOAA-11 remained good. The new target launch date for NOAA-D is April 91.
